Set both on and off-stage during the production of a musical version of The Taming of the Shrew, Kiss Me, Kate revolves around the tempestuous love lives of actor-manager Fred Graham and his leading lady and ex-wife, Lilli Vanessi. Throw in Fred’s current paramour Lois Lane, her gambler boyfriend Bill – and a couple of gangsters who somehow get caught up in the show – and the stage is set for a funny and farcical battle of the sexes!xxxxx

Kiss me Kate er en musikal med veldig mye fin og variert musikk, men også lange spillescener som binder det hele sammen. Jeg må ærlig innrømme at jeg ble litt skuffet da jeg endelig fikk se musikalen jeg hadde gledet meg til så lenge. Det største problemet var at det virket som omtrent alle på scenen var sangere eller dansere som ikke hadde vært noe særlig borti teater før, for spillescenene ble altfor lange og kjedelig. Heldigvis var derimot dansenumrene veldig bra, og man skjønte fort at det var dette de kunne. Det hele ble toppet av et steppenummer med Adam Garcia i spissen, og i og med Garcia er steppdanser ble dette et veldig bra nummer i forhold til andre musikaler!
